Island Grove Regional Park: Featured in Business View MagazineGreeley’s Island Grove Regional Park and General Manager, Tom Welch, have been featured in
Business View Magazine as part of their focus on best practices of American event venues. In case you didn’t know, Island Grove is a multi-faceted event park owned by the City of Greeley and Weld County. It boasts 165-acres with 8 buildings, 150,000 square feet of exhibit space, three pavilions, four outdoor arenas, a splash park, 300 RV hook-ups, 10 acres of multi-use sports fields, Aven’s Village, and much more.
Colorado Teacher of the Year: Machin Norris – Franklin Middle SchoolSeven Colorado educators have been named as
finalists for Colorado Teacher of the Year. The teachers represent the best of every part of the state at every level of K-12 education. Congratulations to Franklin Middle School Integrated Science and S.T.E.M. Teacher, Machin Norris, for her nomination. The Colorado Teacher of the year will be named in October. We wish Machin the best!
Greeley-Evans School District 6: Record number of AP ScholarsA record number of students in Greeley-Evans School District 6 have earned the
prestigious AP Scholars award for their outstanding performance on 2019 Advanced Placement tests, 120 District 6 students in total, with four students earning the highest distinction of National AP Scholar. National AP Scholar awardees include Hayden Hein, James Krombholz, and Indigo Parlin from Greeley Central, and Brooklyn Johnson from Northridge High.
