Riverbank Stabilization Construction Closure

The Duran section of the Poudre River Trail in Greeley, from 59th Avenue to 71st Avenue, will close for reconstruction and riverbank stabilization starting October 10, lasting six to eight weeks. There is no detour, so trail users will need to plan accordingly. The trail will remain open west of 71st Avenue and east of 59th Avenue, with access to the Sheep Draw Trail available at 59th Avenue and F Street. This project will also move the trail further from the river to reduce flooding and erosion risks. The total project cost is $604,149, with $261,977 coming from a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant and the remaining $342,172 coming from City of Greeley and Weld County. Updates will be available on COTREX and the city’s social media channels.

Explore this regional, paved, multi-use trail that connects communities across the northern Front Range. By foot or bike, this trail has something for everyone. It follows the Cache la Poudre River and travels through the Cache la Poudre National Heritage Area, which recognizes the river's cultural and natural importance.
