School District 6 Volunteers: President’s Service AwardTwenty-nine Greeley-Evans School District 6 volunteers have qualified to receive the
President’s Volunteer Service Award for the hours they have logged this year working in schools and at other school district sites. The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and residents who volunteer in their communities to make a difference in six areas of focus, one of which is education. Volunteers logged more than 31, 000 hours of service.

CML is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization providing services and resources to assist municipal officials in managing their governments and serving the cities and towns of Colorado.
International Trustee: National Key Club BoardCongratulations to Greeley Central’s Indigo Parlin for her recent nomination as the International Trustee for the national Key Club board. She will serve on a board of trustees at the international level, making decisions for the largest student-led service organization in the world as well as overseeing three of her own districts.

School District 6 Receives $1.5M School Access for Emergency Response Grant Greeley-Evans School District 6 has been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the state of Colorado through its 2019 School Access for Emergency Response grant program. The grant will be used to purchase radios and radio towers that will allow school safety teams at all schools, including charter schools, to be in direct radio communication with the Greeley Police Department, Evans Police Department, and Weld County Sheriff’s office during an emergency. The grant will also provide training for safety teams and law enforcement agencies on crisis management and the use of radios.
