Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness
The City of Greeley and community partners working together to tackle the five main gaps in homeless services in Greeley that if not addressed will lead to increased numbers of unsheltered individuals, misuse of resources, decreased opportunities for economic growth, and decreased compassion from all affected.
This task force meets every other month and comprises a broad sector of community leaders. Some examples include business owners, real estate developers, social service providers, and elected officials.
Two Goals of Task Force
- Reduce total homelessness in the city of Greeley by 70% in four years
- Reduce the number of people in the city falling into homelessness to less than 50 total a year within four years
Five Objectives of Task Force
- Prevention/in-reach team
- Dedicated outreach team (focused on currently homeless) and in-reach team (focused on prevention)
- Emergency overnight shelter and day center that operates 365 days a year
- Increase permanent housing opportunities
- Increase and enhance ongoing supportive treatment and case management services
