Annual Fishing Derby at Sanborn Park is Set for June 1
GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley’s Annual Fishing Derby will take place Saturday, June 1, at Sanborn Park, 2031 28th Avenue, from 8 a.m. through noon. This family-friendly event is free and open to ages five and older. Participants can surround the lake at Sanborn Park to fish, no fishing license required.
Giveaways
Drawings for giveaways will be held every half hour throughout the morning. Participants can sign up beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Greeley Recreation tent located by the playground. Thanks in part to EnviroTech and the Danny Juarez Memorial Foundation for sponsoring the fishing derby.
Fishing Licenses
Fishing licenses are unnecessary for participating in Colorado Parks and Wildlife‘s Free Fishing Weekend. The Colorado Division of Wildlife will stock the lake with fresh trout in advance of the fishing derby, providing ample fishing opportunities for everyone. Visitors are encouraged to bring a pole and tackle, find the perfect fishing hole, and compete to catch the biggest fish!
