Greeley Concludes 2025 Non-Resident Survey with Record Participation

GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley recently wrapped up its 2025 Your Thoughts on Greeley Non-Resident Survey, with the highest response rate in the survey's history.

“We had strong participation this year,” said Winna Ironkwe, the city’s Director of Communication and Engagement. “Hearing from our neighbors in Colorado and Wyoming gives us a valuable outside view of how Greeley is seen and experienced.”

City staff shared the results with City Council during a public meeting on July 22.

Key Takeaways

A total of 89% of people who answered the survey said they had visited Greeley, offering helpful feedback on what the city is doing well and where it can improve. Most said they came to visit family or friends or for work and business. Dining and shopping were also common reasons for visiting. The survey showed that those who have visited Greeley tend to view the city more positively.

Greeley received high ratings for its higher education, healthcare services and agriculture-related opportunities.

The most well-known event among respondents was the Greeley Stampede (71%). Union Colony Civic Center performances (41%) and University of Northern Colorado athletics (36%) were also widely recognized.

Community Priorities and Perceived Barriers

When asked what would make Greeley a more appealing place to live or visit, people said public safety, overall appearance and cleanliness were top priorities.

The main reasons for not visiting Greeley included preferences for other nearby cities, a perceived lack of exciting activities and limited knowledge about what Greeley has to offer.
