The Tointon Gallery’s exhibit, “Evolving Geographies” by Andrew Liccardo, captures the West and the intersection of our natural and built environments through a camera’s lens.

The opening reception for “Evolving Geographies” goes from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 24 at the gallery, 651 10th Avenue. Enjoy light refreshments and an opportunity to learn more about the art during the artist talk at 6 p.m.

The exhibit runs from March 24-April 28. It’s free and open to the public during regular Greeley Recreation Center business hours. It’s also open during Union Colony Civic Center performances for ticket-holders.

About the Exhibit

The collection of photographs focuses on the idea that the environment we live in (and create) will end up defining us. How we alter and maintain the environment will tell the story of our evolution as people and culture.

About the Artist

Liccardo's photographs have been exhibited worldwide. This includes venues such as the Reykjanes (Iceland) Cultural Festival, Kansas City Public Library, Houston Center for Photography, School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Center for Photography at Woodstock, and the Amarillo Museum of Art. A project portfolio of his work was recently published in the book “Llano Estacado: An Island in the Sky” by Texas Tech University Press as part of its “Voice in the American West” series. He is currently a professor of Art at the University of Northern Colorado.
